Privacy notice
Reviewing should feel clear and comfortable. Here is what the current FreeReviewer.ph service stores and the choices you have.
Updated 21 October 2026
The short version
You can browse without an account. Starting practice, saving a guide or marking it read, creating a plan, or submitting a report creates a guest profile if needed. An essential session cookie connects this browser to that profile. An optional account lets you use your saved progress across devices.
No third-party advertising or analytics scripts are enabled in this release. Optional advertising preferences are off by default. Learning features remain free regardless of that preference.
What we store
- Guest profiles: a random profile identifier and the records you create. A guest profile does not ask for your name or email.
- Optional accounts: your chosen name or nickname, email address, and a salted password hash. Your password is not stored as readable text.
- Learning records: selected exams, question snapshots, submitted answers, results, timestamps, bookmarks, review scheduling, your study plan, and guides you choose to save or mark as read. The reading list stores guide identifiers and saved/read dates; it does not track how far you scroll through an article.
- Reports: the category, message, relevant exam, question or study-guide reference, submission time, and current profile identifier.
- Security records: hashed session and password-reset tokens, expiry times, and rate-limit counters. A trusted-proxy deployment may use a hashed network identifier for abuse prevention.
- Browser preferences: the optional advertising choice and its update time, stored locally in this browser.
Please do not enter government ID numbers, confidential exam materials, another person’s private information, or other unnecessary sensitive details in reports.
Why this information is used
These records allow you to resume practice, see your results, revisit mistakes, manage a plan, sign in, and report problems. Practice history also determines which of your questions are due for another review. This is a study aid; it is not used to make admission, employment, or licensing decisions.
The service does not provide public learner profiles or public score leaderboards. Your account data is not made available to other learners through the application.
Cookies and guest access
The essential aral_session cookie contains a random session token and is set for 30 days. It is marked HttpOnly, so page scripts cannot read it. HTTPS deployments also mark it Secure.
Guest learning records are stored by the service, not solely on your device. Clearing the cookie, switching browsers, signing out, or allowing the session to expire can disconnect you from a guest profile. Session expiry does not automatically delete its records. Create an optional account to retain access across devices, or use Settings to delete guest progress before clearing cookies.
Email and service providers
Password recovery works only when an email delivery service is configured. When available, the service sends a single-use reset link to the account email. Reset links expire after 30 minutes. Resetting the password ends existing account sessions.
The application depends on its hosting and database services. The deployment operator must identify the actual hosting, email, and backup providers and publish its contact details before public launch. This notice does not invent providers or claim that a message was delivered when email is unavailable.
Advertising choices
FreeReviewer.ph supports clearly labeled, optional sponsor messages on its home, exam directory, and resources pages. When a sponsor is configured and you enable sponsor messages in Settings, the page displays a text description and a link. These placements contain no third-party scripts, tracking pixels, ad images, or tracking cookies. Sponsor links use a no-referrer policy.
Sponsor messages never appear during practice or in results. Your practice answers, score, email, and study history are not included in sponsor links. Clicking a link opens the sponsor’s own website, which has its own privacy practices. The browser preference does not permit a future ad network to process your data; a separate provider-specific explanation and appropriate choices would be required.
Export, deletion, and retention
In Settings, you can download a JSON copy of your profile, learning history, bookmarks, reading list, plan, and reports. You can also delete the profile and associated records from the active database. Registered accounts require the current password; guest deletion requires the current browser session.
Saved learning records remain until deleted; the current service does not automatically delete inactive profiles. Expired session and reset tokens can be removed by maintenance. A deployment operator’s backup retention and removal process must be stated before public launch. Deletion from the active database should not be described as instant removal from every possible backup.
For younger learners
You do not need to provide your school, exact birth date, home address, or identification documents to review. Use a nickname if you prefer. Ask a parent or trusted adult for help if you are unsure about creating an account or sharing information.
Accounts and learning records are private within the application. The service does not offer learner messaging or public profiles. The Philippines’ National Privacy Commission provides information about data privacy rights and children’s privacy.
Questions or concerns
Use Help & corrections to record a privacy concern. The form saves a report in this service; it does not send an email or guarantee a reply. For immediate self-service access or deletion, use Settings. A dedicated operator contact and request-handling process are required before this preview is offered as a public service.
